We've pulled out all the stops for February's final PLAY>> session... Following their previous show with Engine Ears, Dub Optic return with very special guest, Kromestar firin' the dubstep beats... Italian house station, m2o/Stardust and Go Deeva Records provide the electronic sound track... And upstairs in room three, Quantum Soundz bring the d&b noise...

Dub Optic blend a history of dub-based music: Reggae Roots to Jungle, Drum & Bass to Dubstep - focusing on Soundsystem Culture as the pinnacle. Now one of the UK's premier dub-based events, they've embarked on the festival circuit, providing music, sound, food and culture to festivals around the UK as well as the mighty Outlook Festival in Croatia... Heading the party this time around is Kromestar.

Kromestar is one of the most sort after DJ's on the circuit. With shows and tours around the globe and guest slots on radios shows like BBC 1xtra and the world famous Rinse FM, you can be sure the highlight of your event will be when Kromestar takes to the decks. 2009 saw the release of his highly acclaimed album, ‘My Sound' on the outstanding 'Dubstar' recordings, an seminal album which has received huge accolades around the world and is widely regarded as one of the greatest dubstep album ever made! Close behind this release was ‘The Other Syde' compilation and in 2011 Kromestar released the more soulful album ‘Colourful Vibrations' showcasing more of his varied talent. 2011 also saw the launch of his new label ‘Bass & Love' with co-owner Jay 5ive, which continues to push amazing music. This year sees the launch of the much anticipated 'Your Time Music' alongside co-owners Mind and Rob Ennex. Expect a musical riot...

The house sounds flow courtesy of Italian guests from Go Deeva & Stardust/m2o. GD head honcho Simone Vitullo has been championing his label since 2005 releasing tracks by himself as well remixes/releases from Mark Knight & Funkagenda, Wally Lopez, Hector Couto, Coolio with regular support from luminaries Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez and Joe T Vannelli. He'll be getting the floor grooving along with Go Deeva partner and Los Angeles based Leonardo Glovibes and with Paolo Bolognesi.
Paolo helped launch the main Italian Electronic dance station, m2o and its Stardust show, a radio show totally devoted to club music. We look forward to welcoming him along alongside the rest of their collective...

Finally, room 3 plays host to Quantum Soundz, the finest purveyors of Jungle/Drum & Bass representing with Poleaxe, DJ Mo, Cymulant, Deadly Duo, Owen G, DJ DTox, Dark Dean, DJ Staf and Iration...

Undadog (Jungle Boogie)

Undadog has been DJ'n for the past 13 years, clocking up multiple gigs along the way. As a dedicated Turntablist, Undadogs DJ sets feature a range of styles including Rave, Oldskool,reggae and Jungle, mixed and cut up with a choppy “cut and paste” styled approach.

Over the years, Undadog has played slots throughout Ireland and the UK. These include Incubator (Belfast), Alienisland Festival, Rathlin Island Festival, Rastachaun Dundalk, this island and trip hazard. residencies held at Perceptual, Sound Kowalition, Bad Taste, and Drumology.
He's also appeared on radio stations such as Battlestation, Break-Pirates, Stressfactor, BassJunkees, UK Rumble (London), and Interface (London).
Undadog's a strong lover of oldskool music as he believes it is just as relevant today as it was back in the day.

Bad Operator (Drumology & Crilli)

Bad Operator is a drum and bass and electronic music DJ and promoter from Bangor.
Having ran successful Bangor Drum and Bass, Dubstep and Electronic music club night Crilli for the past 5 years which played host a diverse range of DJ’s such as Soul: R favourite Lynx and Space Dimension Controller to name but a few, Bad Operator now DJ's regularly at Belfast Drum and Bass institution Drumology along with a making appearances at a variety of club nights and festivals around Ireland.
The Operator was responsible for curating the drum and bass events at Trans Festival at The Waterfront Hall which ran up until 2010, bringing the likes of Logistics, Dom and Roland, John B and Break to Belfast to the first time, and has DJ'd alongside a number of prolific Drum and Bass producers in recent times.
Bad Operator will be playing a mixture of dubstep, jungle and drum and bass at The Drop.

March sees the return of James Ruskin's Blueprint Records shindig with a line-up that's sure to please the 'well-versed' Techno aficionados. Luke Slater will be performing a Planetary Assault Systems DJ set, Regis will perform live and we have word his sound will have a nod towards his Downwards Records releases past & present. The aforementioned will be ably backed up by Mark Broom and label boss Ruskin. Colony will be taking over room2 with The Blackest Ever Black duo Raime performing for 2hours. If you love techno, we've got it all!

NO BEEF has moved to the UPPER LEVEL at CAREYS.

To kick things off we have brought in Circus Records top boy FuntCase,

Twisted? Warped? Disgusting? No matter how you describe the filth monger you can always guarantee one thing this man will make you bounce until you can’t stand still! One of the most entertaining DJ’s within the industry and the producer of some of the dirtiest dub step known to man kind, FuntCase is by no means politically correct!

FuntCase started out producing dnb under the name Dj Dose. He began producing dubstep for fun but then quickly discovered a new found love for it, and thank f*ck he did! In a short amount of time he has proven himself to be one of the duttiest producers around, which is of course why Circus were so quick to snap him up.

Signed to the biggest bass label around Circus Records with the likes of Flux Pavilion, Cookie Monsta & Doctor P, FuntCase really is one of the biggest in the game.
